I forgot to add I usually will get a frozen Mrs. Field's pie of some sort for dessert for Christmas dinner. If I'm going to destroy my supposed diet, I'm going to go all the way!

Yes, pies at Christmas are a must. My grocery store (HEB) usually has
smaller 8" pumpkin pies and I pick one of those up and a small
container of whipped cream. It only lasts a few days LOL

Yes, pies at Christmas are a must. My grocery store (HEB) usually has smaller 8" pumpkin pies and I pick one of those up and a small
container of whipped cream. It only lasts a few days LOL

I remember HEB ("huge enormous butt" LOL). It was a very nice store to shop in.

I like all sorts of pie so I'll just grab whatever's there at the time if it's frozen but if it's in the deli, I'll ask if they have any pumpkin pie hiding out. Whipped cream is a must.

I will make a no-bake cheesecake if I mess up and am too late to get a pie in stock.

because pumpkins are harvested around that time.

Yes, although my mother finally got tired of making it when there was
just the two of us there at Christmas and she would buy one but then
make Plum Pudding sauce to put on it which helped it out a lot.. B)

There are various degrees of that, some dry and hard and some more
like cherry bits in white cake. I found the lighter one wasn't
that bad and, as mentioned elsewhere, we started putting Christmas
Plum Pudding sauce on it as well which helped a Lot.. B)

My grandmother was locally famous in her small town for making
Christmas Cake for friends and restaurants and such. She apparently
put a Lot of some type of booze in hers, and probably a lot of that
ended up in the cook as well.. B)
